Well it’s been a long while since I posted, probably because of lots of life changes like buying a house, changing jobs, etc .. However one unchanging aspect is I’ve still been playing games on Yucata most of that time.

So today we come to Just 4 Fun Colours which is a nice easy game where you have a hand of coloured cards and 20 stones. To place a stone on the board you need to play a card corresponding to the matching colour. If there is already a stone there (doesn’t matter whose) then you need to play 2 cards to put your stone on top so it’s a tower of 2 stones. If there is a tower of stones then you need to play as many cards as stones plus the extra for yours e.g. 3 stones and yours is the 4th then you need to play 4. Only the colour of the top stone matters. The aim of the game is to form a straight line of stones, where a line can be a row, a column, or a diagonal.

The standard game requires a line of 4 to win, though there is a variant that requires 5. The video below is a game I played recently with the variant rules. You don’t see other players hands during the game, but once the game has finished you can view it and it shows all players hands (this is not always the case for all games and depends on how the programmer has implemented it). The game can be played between 2 and 4 players, the video is from a 3 player game.
